ABOUT SHADES 

Since 2002, SHADES Jewelry Designs has been creating unique, hand-crafted jewelry that allows you to express yourself.  Our one of a kind handcrafted jewelry designs are created with Swarovski Austrian crystals, freshwater pearls, handcrafted Lampwork beads, amazing glass beads imported from all over the world, gorgeous gemstones, intricate Bali and sterling silver.

All of our jewelry is handcrafted and strung on wire or monofillament for strength and durability. Custom-made, one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry using a charm, a certain color of bead or personalization is our trademark. Or you can simply choose from an extensive collection of jewelry that is already created.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER 

Dawn Rhodes, founder of SHADES Jewelry Designs, is a semi-self-taught jewelry designer who has been creating beaded jewelry for almost 5 years. 

To be more precise, her interest in beads began one summer with some friends and family and creating seed bead bracelets. That same year she created cross necklaces out of beads and charms for her family for Christmas. When people started asking where they could purchase or see more of the jewelry, Dawn decided it was time to create the business and pursue jewelry making more.

All the jewelry on this site is handmade by Dawn. She is attracted to the infinite combinations that are possible with different shapes, colors, textures & sizes of beads. Her favorite designs are those that are unique and personalized. She continually refines her techniques and has developed the kind of knowledge, skill, and quality of workmanship that comes only from years of experience.

Dawn is currently working on becoming a jeweler. She is currently taking classes through the Professional Career Development Institute in Norcross, GA and their School of Jewelry Design and Repair. She is also an active member of the Ohio Beaders and has also taught classes on jewelry making for different organizations.

Shades Jewelry is my first and only choice for beaded jewelry. The

craftsmanship is quite a good deal for the nominal price.  I have even "commissioned" several pieces and the result is quite a bit better than I had in mind when I requested the item.

My favorite item to order or purchase from Shades Jewelry is the beaded

watches.  I find that they fit better than a buckle watch from the store. I have a skin condition that requires a very loose-fitting watch and Shades Jewelry fits that need and the watches look like Madison Avenue designer-quality ones.  I have several watches, one to match each different color outfit I have.

I also have a necklace from Shades Jewelry that was made using special beads I purchased in Sedona, Arizona.  And I have a lovely purple bracelet that was gifted to me and that I love because it is so dainty and makes me feel special when I wear it.  I also just today purchased an exquisite broach that will match the bracelet quite nicely.

I am so glad that Shades Jewelry is here in my area.  I know that each piece is crafted with care and quality and that customer satisfaction is paramount to this fledgling business.
